Shishi Yamazaki is a young Japanese animator and mask designer. She studied at the Tokyo University of the Arts where she developed her signature style – producing rotoscope animation using hand drawn watercolour painting-like drawings. They are really, really beautiful. I highly recommend taking the time and watching all of her animations – they are surreal, funny and whimsical all at the same time. I’m posting two of my favourites here to hopefully make your Monday a little better.
