Filly Designs

Filly is the creation of Emily Christensen, who dropped out of law school to find her way into the fashion industry.

Here is a little more about the brand:

“Filly is a clothing company and living concept based in Portland, Oregon. We present three collections a year ranging from ten to twenty styles. I choose American-milled and sustainable fabric whenever possible, pattern and sew each prototype, draw the spring print and pick out the dye colors offered each season. All Filly garments are made to order in the San Francisco Bay Area. This is clothing ethically made and carefully constructed in small-batch runs.”

I really love Filly’s Spring 2012 lookbook – beautiful, simple clothing that is shot and styled impeccably. I really like the model they chose as well, she is very interesting looking…seems like she should be living in the 1940’s.

Interesting collection, and I really like that first shot. I agree with you about the model’s 40s look – she immediately reminded me of Virginia Woolf.

  2. Thats so true, it also reminds me of Virginia Woolf. Vintage inspired and loving, thanks for sharing.

Absolutely, the way the hair is done is so perfect for the clothes. It also rules that it’s ethically made.
