The Japan Animals School

These strange and amazing illustrations are taken from a Japanese childrens book titled Animal School published in 1927. Takeo Takei is the talented man behind the illustrations. He studied at Hongo Yoga Kenkyujo (Hongo Research Institute for Western Art). After graduating he went on to create illustrations for a number of child-orientated publications. He is also noted for being one of the co-founders of the Nihon Doga Kyokai (Japan Association of Illustration for Children), as part of the effort to achieve artistic quality in illustrations for children.
