Will Barnet was a talented American painter and print maker who lived to 101 years old. He died last year, leaving a legacy of beautiful artworks which show both the evolution of his style and talent. I love his more flat and stylised paintings from the 1960’s-70’s.
“In the prints and paintings that he produced from the mid-1960s on, Mr. Barnet ranged between a simplified form of realism and a poetic, visionary symbolism. A skilled draftsman, he created exactingly linear, subtly coloured portraits of family members and friends.”
