Lapo is an artist from Rio de Janeiro, who currently lives in Lisbon. Her work is influenced by the notion of automatic drawing, which was popular during the Surrealist movement, where artists try to disconnect their creative process from their conscious mind to access their unconscious.
“Lapo is a contemporary storyteller. Focusing on characters and characterization, the multi-disciplinary artist uses drawing, painting and animation to interpret experiences and the sociology of culture concerning the ways of thinking, the ways of acting and the material objects that together shape people’s way of life.”
I really love her idiosyncratic and humorous vision of the world. You can buy some of her work here.
