Nelson Mandela (1918-2013)

It is with a very heavy heart that I write this post. Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela has passed away at the age of 95. I’m not one for political commentary on this blog but I feel the event is too important not to mention. He was an amazingly inspiring man who had a profound effect on all South Africans. Using his talents as lawyer, politician, freedom fighter and president of South Africa, he made innumerable positive changes to our country and the people/organisations he encountered.

As a South African I feel very privileged and thankful to have been alive during his lifetime and to enjoy the rights and freedoms that he and so many others fought so hard for. His compassion, patience, respect and openness for all people was truly exemplary. He will be greatly missed – rest in peace Madiba.

One Response to Nelson Mandela (1918-2013)

  1. Julianne says:

extraordinary man – what resilience, tenacity and generosity of spirit. The sort of man who shows us what can be achieved and what it is to be human.
